Mahabaleshwar: Mahabaleshwar is
situated at 1372 meters around Lake Venna; it is the highest
hill station in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. There are 30 valley viewpoints with panoramic vistas scattered around the hill station near Mumbai and their access roads make for shady, pleasant walks and treks. Mahabaleshwar is around 220 km from Mumbai and can be reached by bus or taxi.
Alibag: Alibag is a serene, sleepy, confabulation of fishing hamlets with multiple beaches, now assuming the form of a prospering town. It is accessible in about an hour by the combination of a catamaran / ferry from Gateway of India in south Mumbai and then by bus from Mandwa jetty, across the bay. It is also accessible by road via Panvel.
